The mission of the Hip Hop Hall of Fame is to become the permanent repository for visual, auditory, oral and written records and artifacts commemorating & celebrating the cultural richness of Hip Hop. In addition, the museum will help educate visitors on the influence of Hip Hop on American Pop Culture and its socio-economic impact. Visitors will gain a deeper understanding into one of history’s more influential subcultures. Thousands of New York City school children will attend field trips and see firsthand the power and influence of music and the arts. Most importantly, it will showcase and celebrate the contemporary struggle for empowerment and model ownership for African Americans through incorporating a social enterprise model with the goal of attaining 70% sustainability.
This state of the art architectural masterpiece and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Museum is being designed by world renowned architect Sir David Adjaye, of the African-American Museum in Washington D.C. Planned for completion by 2020, the impressive 55,000-square-foot facility will be located in Harlem, New York City, with pre-approved development air-rights to build up 20 stories.. At present there are over 40 donated exhibits highlighting the artists, dancers, influencers and icons from the 70’s to the present. which will be housed in 5 state of the art exhibit halls. In addition, there will be a restaurant, retail, concert venue, and hotel. Each of these elements will seek to underpin the museum and all its operational needs through a mix of social enterprise and corporate sponsorship.

Most importantly, our ability, with your help, to raise this money will trigger a $20 million pledge from a private equity firm.
